Motiv is a new venture in San Diego focused on connecting teens to meaningful volunteer service! We exist because we believe teens offer a unique ability to create tangible and positive impacts on society, but are faced with a multitude of barriers that prevent them from achieving such successes. The Motiv platform gives teens a free resource to search for teen friendly service projects, log/track their hours, and develop a dashboard that breaks down their overall impact. These features allow teens to truly craft their volunteer story and this can be used in college applications and future career endeavors.
Each year, Motiv hosts it’s Motiv8 Teen Service Summit which is focused on inspiring teens into volunteerism via dynamic speakers, interactive workshops, collaborative service projects, and a nonprofit expo. This years summit will occur on Sunday October 22 from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the University of San Diego’s Joan B Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice.
Motiv connects San Diego high school students to meaningful volunteer service. Teens are compelled to do service for many different reasons. Whether it is required by their high school, an avenue to get into college or to make a difference in the world – No matter their Motiv, by directing teens to high level volunteer experiences, we aim to instill values of lifelong volunteerism. In partnership with great local nonprofit organizations, Motiv will spotlight impactful service opportunities around San Diego County.
Rabbi Hillel said “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If I am only for myself, what am I? And; if not now, when?”
Motiv is proud to be guided by a deep Jewish tradition of Working to Repair the World. We are fortunate to be a part of a diverse and multifaceted San Diego community and look forward to working with all teens who want to make a difference, a difference now!
Our Core Values: Don’t Stand Idly By, Serve Others, Act with Intentionality, Perform Acts of Loving Kindness
