NANOE Nominees were informed of their nomination to NANOE’s Board of Governors via email from Charlotte Berry & Kathleen Robinson (NANOE’s Nominations Co-Chairs.) Nominations were proposed to Charlotte Berry & Kathleen Robinson from members of AFP, CFRE, AHP, ASAE, CASE, United Way, National Development Institute, Nonprofit Associations, Industry Associations, and other community leaders. Though many nominations were submitted by individual leaders many NANOE Nominees were submitted to the Nominations Committee by research work performed by NANOE staff over a 15-month period. NANOE Nominees were informed by Charlotte Berry via email of their appointment.

NANOE Governors where privileged to hear from Ms. Berry during NANOE’s Convention and Expo at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, SC. She reviewed nearly sixty-years of personal service to the charitable sector including United Way and American Red Cross leadership. Charlotte Lunsford Berry has spent a lifetime championing the displaced, disenfranchised and disaffected. She’s has traveled the world as the National Chairwoman of Volunteers of the American Red Cross, supervising and planning activities for 1.8 million volunteers. She is the founding chairwoman of the National Museum Committee (History and Education Center) of the American Red Cross and a founding member of Women In Philanthropy, and serves on the boards of dozens of community organizations including the Palmetto Health Foundation, Junior Achievement, Girl Scouts, SC Independent Colleges and Universities, the College of Charleston, Carolina National Bank, Volunteers of America and the United Way of America, for which she serves as chair of Planned Giving. She received the prestigious Order of the Palmetto from the State of South Carolina and is the most recent recipient of National Development Institute’s Life-Time Achievement Award.
